We are very excited to see 102 year old WWII Pacific War Veteran Mr. Caster Salemi this Saturday. Mr. Salemi trained in Paris Texas before being sent to the South Pacific. He was first stationed in New Guinea from Mar.1944 to Jan.1945 and then made the landing in Luzon, Philippines as part of the 251st Field Artillery battalion- company B. Caster was a T4 (Tech)Sergeant responsible for setting up communications between companies. He was in the Philippines fighting the Japanese from Jan.1945 through Dec.1945 seeing action in Dagupan, Pangasinan, Bayombong, Balette Pass, Cagayan Valley, Iguig, and Manila. Caster Salemi received the Philippines Liberation Medal and Asiatic Pacific Service Medal. He will be here through Saturday during our Pacific War re-enactment. AHM Presentation: Tank Technology

Join us at the American Heritage Museum on Friday, March 29th at 1:00 PM, to hear a presentation by AHM docent and former Master Gunner and tank platoon Sergeant Gregg Pomerleau.

Mobility, protection and firepower are the main factors considered when designing and operating tanks. Hear Gregg Pomerleau discuss the history and technologies of tanks and how the concepts of building a better tank has advanced over the millennia. Mr. Pomerleau’s has an extensive knowledge in tanks of all kinds and types and served over 6 years as Tank Platoon Sergeant and gunnery expert.

As part of this special to this presentation, Gregg will take participants on a personal tour through the American Heritage Museum’s collection to point out specific features on the tanks that he is highlighting in his talk.
