The answer to the “What is it? Wednesday” question from October 1st is the roll of track in our "Arsenal of Democracy" exhibit! These tracks go to the American M4 Sherman. This roll is made up of about 70 track blocks, and 140 end connectors, weighing in at a staggering 2,400 lbs. (1088.6 kg)!Stay tuned for the next “What is it? AHM Presentation: Tank Technology

Join us at the American Heritage Museum on Friday, March 29th at 1:00 PM, to hear a presentation by AHM docent and former Master Gunner and tank platoon Sergeant Gregg Pomerleau.

Mobility, protection and firepower are the main factors considered when designing and operating tanks. Hear Gregg Pomerleau discuss the history and technologies of tanks and how the concepts of building a better tank has advanced over the millennia. Mr. Pomerleau’s has an extensive knowledge in tanks of all kinds and types and served over 6 years as Tank Platoon Sergeant and gunnery expert.

As part of this special to this presentation, Gregg will take participants on a personal tour through the American Heritage Museum’s collection to point out specific features on the tanks that he is highlighting in his talk.

There will be no General Admissions tickets available on Saturday, October 11th and Sunday, October 12th during the Battle for the Airfield WWII Re-Enactment Weekend - all visitors on Saturday and Sunday must purchase event tickets for access to the American Heritage Museum. $40 Adults | $35 Seniors/Veterans | $25 Children 3 to 16 years old.
