One of the great highlights during our WWII Re-enactment (October 7th & 8th) is the WWII Veterans Roundtable discussion. If you know a WWII Veteran who would like to participate please send an email to Hunter Chaney at hchaney@collingsfoundation.org ... See MoreSee Less

Tanks, Wings & Wheels – Featuring American Elegance

June 17 @ 9:00 am - June 18 @ 5:00 pm

$15 – $25

*Weekend event is rain or shine! Three amazing museums to see with exhibitions and displays inside. American Elegance classic car performance might be moved down depending on weather.

A fantastic Father’s Day weekend event! Many of the Collings Foundation’s astounding classic automobiles will be out in the sunshine in a grandiose automobile presentation at 1:00pm daily called American Elegance. Accompanying colorful vintage radio broadcast narration will be sure to entertain! Several other exhibitions and surprises will be afoot. Historic aircraft and tanks will be on display.

The American Heritage Museum will be open along with the two additional annex buildings on our campus: the AHM aircraft hangar and the AHM automobile collection. The hangar features 12 aircraft from 1909 to 1945 and a collection of Midget, Sprint, and Indy Cars. The automobile collection features over 25 rare automobiles from 1900 through 1946. These additional buildings on the American Heritage Museum campus are only open for special event weekends such as this one – all museum buildings and outdoor events are covered with this admission.

In addition to the Classic Car performance, tank rides and tours though the museums we will have a rocket engine display by AIAA south of the historic aircraft hangar and miniature game board set up like a 1920s Chicago street scene with gangsters, federal agents, and vehicles in 28mm scale. There will be a series of short game scenarios through the weekend that the audience can join.
