Keene about the book – Winged Heroes: How American Air Power led to victory in World War II\, and helped shape the modern world.  \nWinged Heroes take the reader on a harrowing journey though the perilous skies of World War II. From the birth of military aviation in World War I\, through the interwar years\, to the Flying Tigers of 1941\, and to the Dash to Victory from 1944-1945\, Winged Heroes celebrates the pilots and innovators who pushed the boundaries of flight. \nThis falls on the same day as our Tanks\, Wings and Wheels weekend where we will have all three museums open: Classic Car Barn\, Historic Aircraft Hangar and the American Heritage Museum. An ideal time to see some of the museum’s rare collection of historic aircraft including the last flying fighter from Pearl Harbor (P-40)\, F6F Hellcat\, SBD Dauntless\, TBM Avenger and many more. \n  \n
