SUMMARY:Women In Aviation Weekend: Honor the Past & Inspire the Future
DESCRIPTION:Inspire the Future!\nYoung people of all ages are welcome! Learn about aviation\, meet female aviators\, and explore the world of flight. The Boston Chapter of Women in Aviation International will host Girls in Aviation Day all weekend in conjunction with the American Heritage Museum’s Historic Aircraft Demonstration weekend. \nSpecial Displays and Forums for Girls in Aviation Day All Weekend\nWomen in Aviation Weekend will feature presentations and displays focused on the role of women in aviation history and their impact on the aviation industry through all facets today. We will feature hands-on activities\, career panel\, and inspiring speakers. All presentations will take place in the Historic Aircraft Hangar and tables representing various industries\, programs\, and groups will be available within the hangar to answer questions and learn more! \n \nAmerican Heritage Museum Flying Demonstrations Each Day\nAlso\, this weekend will feature select flying and ground demonstrations of aircraft like the AT-6 Texan trainer\, L-5 Sentinel\, Waco UIC Pearl Harbor Survivor\, PT-17 Stearman\, 1909 Curtiss Pusher\, Bleriot XI and others. We hope to provide these flying and ground demonstrations each day but all operations are weather permitting. \n  \nAmerican Heritage Museum and Annex Buildings Open\nThe American Heritage Museum will be open along with the two additional annex buildings on our campus: the AHM aircraft hangar and the AHM automobile collection. The hangar features 12 aircraft from 1909 to 1945 and a collection of Midget\, Sprint\, and Indy Cars. The automobile collection features over 25 rare automobiles from 1900 through 1946. These additional buildings on the American Heritage Museum campus are only open for special event weekends such as this one – all museum buildings and outdoor events are covered with this admission. \n  \nDaily Event Schedule\n9:00 AM – Event Begins. Women In Aviation activities. \n10:00 AM – Career Panel \n11:00 AM – Women in Aviation Guest Speakers \n12:00 PM – Lecture by US Air Force Veteran Mel Bloom (Sat. 9/21) \n1:00 PM – American Heritage Museum Historic Aircraft Flying Demonstrations and Exhibitions. \n3:30 PM Sat. / 2:30 PM Sun. – WASP in WWII (Women’s Airforce Service Pilots) – Women Pioneers in the military. Presented by WASP daughter Margaret DiBenedetto. \nVendors offering food and beverage will be available and Picnics are allowed. \n  \nEvent Admission & Registration\nAll event tickets include admission to the American Heritage Museum and all buildings\, no additional ticket needed. \nAdults – $30 \nSeniors (62+) – $25 \nVeterans & Active Duty – $25 \nStudents 18 and under  – Free with advance registration* / $20 day of event \nChildren 3 and under – Free \nWWII/Korean Veterans – Free \nAHM Members – Free. \n*All Students 18 and under are FREE with advance purchase or registration only. Note: Free admission for Students 18 and under is not available at the gate – pre-registration at the links above is required. \n  \nTank Driving Experiences and Tank Rides Available\nTank Driving experiences and Tank & Half Track Rides will be taking place over the weekend. You can register online\, by phone\, or on-site\, but spaces are limited! \n\nTank Ride Experience Prices:\n– M36 Jackson (10 minute ride) – $195 per person – Maximum of five (5) riders per trip (four in turret\, one in bow gunner position.
