SUMMARY:25th Anniversary Commemoration of 9/11 Attacks with Joyce Ng\, 3 World Trade Center Survivor
DESCRIPTION:To commemorate the upcoming 25th anniversary of September 11\, 9/11 survivor Joyce Ng will donate a rare Ground Zero artifact to the museum’s permanent exhibit and talk about her escape from the World Trade Center during a special event on Thursday\, September 10th from 3:00pm to 4:30pm at the American Heritage Museum. \nOn September 11\, 2001\, Joyce found herself trapped inside 3 World Trade Center\, the Marriott World Trade Center hotel—when American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower\, causing the hotel to catch fire. Along with countless others\, she fled the burning building. This was an experience that left an indelible mark on her life. In response to this traumatic event\, Joyce took action. In a time of crisis\, she quickly mobilized resources to create a database of hotel survivors to help families locate the missing. She went on to establish the nonprofit organization 9/11 Survivors of Three World Trade Center\, the only charity dedicated to the survivors of the destroyed hotel. \nJoyce has been a tireless advocate for 9/11 survivors\, engaging with national leaders to raise awareness about the lasting impact of the attacks. Her efforts have garnered recognition in The Washington Post\, NPR\, and The New York Times. In 2016\, Joyce published the book Hotel 9/11\, an inspiring story of strength and resilience\, capturing firsthand accounts of hotel survivors. Through this powerful book\, she has immortalized the stories of those who experienced the tragedy\, ensuring that their voices are heard and their memories preserved for generations to come. Joyce’s unwavering dedication to honoring the legacy of 9/11 and educating others about its impact is truly inspiring\, making her a symbol of strength and resilience in the face of adversity. \nBio: Joyce Ng is the founder of the nonprofit organization 9/11 Survivors of Three World Trade Center.
